Hi there, I'm Mel, a 35 year old married mother of 3. I live in North West Leicestershire, in a 1930s house that might actually fall down before my husband and I get round to renovating it. I qualified as a midwife in 2009. Since then I have spent the following 14 years working within the NHS and since 2017 I have been fortunate enough to work on a dedicated homebirth service.

When you book an antenatal care package with me, I will be your midwife throughout. No more impersonal, rushed 15 minute clinic appointments, with a different midwife each time. I will provide unhurried antenatal appointments in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you and your family.

I aim to support the whole family and actively encourage partners and any other children to be a part your maternity care. We will get to know each other on a personal basis and form a relationship built on trust and mutual respect. This continuity of care model has been shown over and over again to be one of the most significant factors affecting overall safety and client satisfaction.

You can count on me to provide holistic midwifery care, based on the best available evidence. I will be there as your pregnancy unfolds, for every twist and turn, unpicking and answering any questions you may have. I want you to feel empowered, with all the necessary knowledge and skills to take control of your pregnancy and to make informed choices that are right for you and your family.

I am a huge advocate for individualised, person centred care and understand that one size does not fit all. Therefore all appointments will be tailored specifically to you and your family's needs.

Should you have any additional appointments within the NHS, I would be more than happy to attend and act as a professional advocate for your wishes if required. To offer you peace of mind, in between our scheduled appointments, I will be available to you by telephone or Whatsapp.
